CANopenIA-XA: Direct I/O
(formerly mode 1 and mode 2)

Also available as Philips LPC2xxx binaries

[ CANopenIA-XA | Direct I/O | Coprocessor ]

This mode implements a simple CANopen I/O node, compatible to the CANopen Device Profile DS401. The PDO mapping supported is static, however the default mapping is configurable allowing for a flexible communication setup.

Illustration of CANopenIA-XA - Mode 2

The CANopenIA-XA chip supports several standard analog components with SPI port. Using analog components on the SPI makes the implementation more flexible and allows supporting high-resolution (12-bit or more) A/D components that are usually not available on-chip with microcontrollers.

Example for analog components supported:

  • MAX5235 DAC
Digital to analog converter with 2 channels of 12-bit, voltage output
  • MAX1203 ADC
Analog to digital converter with 8 channels (currently only 4 supported) of 12-bit
